january

with the start of 2024, comes a mostly uneventful first month. hope you all had a good january!

i beat the smrpg remake right before new years. and i nearly cried. when i first got into it, i was.. not the best person. i wasnt bigoted or anything, just really annoying (not in the good way.. i dont like talking about it). but now, im an adult that actually knows what im doing half the time. the game means so much to me and without it i wouldnt have met some of my online friends, and probably would have been a completely different person. i highly recommend the game to those who wish to play it. doesnt matter if its the original or the remake- give it a chance if youre interested!

i did a lot of updating on my site this month. mainly related to css and the front page. i decided to move away from the table layout and try something a bit different. im so proud of how it turned out! when it comes to css, its for my diary. just so each page looks consistent and i dont have to painstakingly update each page to whatever layout i want it to be. it's still a major wip, but its going better than i expected.

i experienced a very bizarre emotion after having a dream. you see, the dream i had involved me eating a huge pizza slice. i could taste it and everything. it genuinely felt like i ate it! then i woke up, and my stomach was completely empty. it was weird. i could have sworn i ate something! cant have shit in canada.

a sort-of selfship related event happened online. the creator of the thanos beatbox meme went broke for an amv of himself and the girl from hazmat motel. i dont know whether i should be happy a popular internet figure is technically a selfshipper, or be disappointed in the fact he spent all his patreon money on it. but the fact of the matter is, its surely something that happened.

that aside.. i finished gregory horror show! i really loved it. my favorite volume is the second one. aside from being infatuated with gregory, im also madly in love with cactus gunman. i watched another anime called a little snow fairy sugar. its a cutesy shoujo about a girl named saga who befriends some fairies with weather powers. very simple, but enjoyable to watch. overall, i can recommend both of these shows!

i read up to the eighth volume of the persona 5 manga. i really like it! it combines elements of the original with royal. i hope to get the other volumes soon. thankfully the book store i go to almost always has the manga in stock. it's rather rare something i like goes in stock beyond the first 2-3 volumes. the only other series i like that they keep stock of is mp100 (i gotta watch s3..).

in my unova adventure, i defeated team plasma. the elite four battle wasnt too hard, and all i needed to beat iris was a bit of planning. while on the topic of pokemon, im long overdue for an alpha sapphire replay. the thing that prevented me from doing it much earlier was attachment to the legendaries i managed to get.. until my friends pointed out the ones i got from the gts were likely hacked and not some generous player blessing me with their shiny arceus.

sadly, we end this month on a negative note. llsif 2 is coming out next month, which is awesome! i loved the original sif. but they also announce the shut down date in the same tweet. like. what the hell?? listen, im used to mobile gacha game bs. but this is a whole new low. it doesnt help that the jp servers will be shutting down soon too! ill still be playing though.. i just hope the fans protest enough for these stupid shutdown dates to at least be extended. or out of the picture completely.

im hoping the rest of the year will be full of fun things.

february

february is the month when the dreaded valentines day plagues all stores worldwide. i dont really celebrate it personally. i was only ever excited for it in elementary school when my class would make little mailboxes and give each other treats. as an adult it just gives me an excuse to be extra annoying about my selfships.

i started a oras replay. my team consists of a swampert named kippy, a breloom named shroom, a pikachu named pikaboo (with the clever costume), and a sandslash named terra. im also looking for something to use the dive hm for, since its only really needed for one point in the game. i have 5 badges so far. it feels great to revisit my favorite generation after so long, i remember blazing through the whole main story in a week when i first got it.

continuing my trend of watching cutesy anime about fairies, i watched bottle fairy! its an episodic show about fairies learning about the world around them, while also wanting to become human themselves. i also watched nichijou. it was one of the first mangas i bought myself. the humor is very absurd (in a good way) and reminds me of katamari in some aspects. i can 100% recommend both. bottle fairy if you want something chill and fun, and nichijou if you want something chaotic.

sif2 came out. its pretty much the same as the original. though with an added texting feature (with automated responses, since you cant trust the fans with being normal). along with some short videos as part of stories. the shutdown date apparently got changed to the end of march. which is sad.. but on the bright side, i got the orange hanayo card (no really, they reused older cards), a riko ur, and two rin ur cards! one was given for free and the second i did a lot of grinding for.

i watched a lot of movies with my sister this month. we have a big collection of dvds, and i didnt want them to just collect dust. during my movie watching fun times, i watched..

when i went shopping, the book store i went to had most volumes of mp100 and persona 5.. except for the ones i wanted. to fill the void, i bought and read my lesbian experience with loneliness. its an autobiography about the writer's experiences with mental health and her sexual encounters at love hotels. if its not obvious from the cover, this manga has explicit content. though it's not super graphic. ive also read the mp100 volumes i currently own. i own up to the sixth one and the reigen spinoff. so ive pretty much read the first season. i love the crude art style so much. i noticed one's art got more refined as the series went on, but i like how it mostly remained simple.

two nintendo presentations dropped; a partner showcase and a pokemon presents. the partner showcase didnt have much i cared about. aside from the snufkin game im already really hyped about. i added it to my wishlist immediately after the presentation. i usually dont watch pokemon presents, but ive been doing a lot of replays so i tuned in. it was kinda disappointing. i dont care for the mobile games, and i never played xy or legends arceus. but im happy for those who wanted pokemon z! maybe someday we'll get pokemon grey?

overall, it was fine. i was snowed in most of the month due to extreme weather conditions. i didnt have anything particularly big to do so thankfully i wasnt stressed. happy leap year btw! i hope you enjoy your extra day in february.

march

ive been very busy this month (and i will continue to be til september). its nothing big, just helping out my family. but it will more than likely cause updates on my site to slow down. despite how tiring its been, ive actually been in a very good mood the whole month! who knew waking up early and having breakfast every day would be really nice?

i beat the main story in oras, got all the badges, and beat the elite four and champion. i ended up using a tentacruel named squiddi for story relevant hm's (that i couldnt give to kippy). ill start up the delta episode when i feel like it.

i finished some of the cartoons on my watch list. to be specific, ones i started but never finished. i tend to have a habit of starting shows, pausing, and then forgetting to watch the rest. here's what ive watched so far:

the looney tunes show

i started it about a year ago and only recently binged the rest of it. initially i wasnt a fan of how it interpreted the characters, but over time i grew to like it. one thing i like about it is how it gave lola an actual personality. dont get me wrong, i liked her in space jam. but shes just so much better (and funnier) in this show. i also really loved how daffy was portrayed. he's a hypocrite, selfish, and irresponsible. but in a absolutely hilarious way. it greatly contrasts bugs being more responsible and level headed, but having his moments where he loses his cool. also every moment with marvin had me giddy because he's my favorite. he's usually just lumped into groups, but he was still very adorable every second he was on screen.

the adventures of sam and max: freelance police

i also started this show a year ago. it has a very meta and absurd sense of humor, but it didnt feel obnoxious or overstay its welcome. i literally burst into a 10 minute fit of laughter over "lactose the intolerant". on top of that, it's super entertaining and does a good job at keeping your attention. sam and max have a really good dynamic and bring out the best in each other. its no wonder theyre married. i should really get around to playing the telltale games..

when it comes to games this month, me and my sister have been playing undertale together. she did all the walking and counting turns, and i did the harder puzzles and all of the bosses. its so much better than i remember it being. i was super into it back when it was incredibly popular. however in my original playthrough i did a no mercy run and got stuck at mettaton. right now, im doing a neutral run. sparing all the major characters and taking down minor enemies for the exp. im at muffet in terms of bosses. by the way, sans fangirls are the strongest people alive.

i also got more stuff done in ffvii. i beat rufus, and did the bike minigame. it reminds me of the racing in chrono trigger. i then did the segment in kalm where you basically relive clouds trauma (yknow, with sephiroth and all that). theres a part where a bridge collapses and it plays the cinematic while showing the models at the same time. it probably looked normal on crt tvs back in the 90s. but as someone playing the switch port, it looked super bizarre (and absolutely hilarious). i dont care that the cinematics are super blurry and dont look nearly as good as they did back then. it's part of the charm, dammit!

i only rewatched one movie this month. that movie being tangled. i thought it was alright. i found rapunzel and eugene's romance to be very creepy. especially since rapunzel turns 18 halfway through the film. i wish they just remained friends. however, i applaud the film for trying something different with it's villain. making mother gothel a manipulative gaslighter instead of the traditional disney villain antics. even if her design and concept is.. unintentionally(?) antisemetic. in general, i think a lot of things in this film were done better in disney's later princess films like frozen and moana.

by the way, march 25th marks two decades of me being alive! crazy, huh? im sort of a weirdo when it comes to generations. im too old to relate to mid-late 2010s nostalgia (that isnt hyper specific to my tastes), but i also remember when youtube had a 5 star rating. and i owned vhs tapes alongside dvds. on this special day, i got adolecence of utena on dvd (the central park media release, complete with the second disk that just has trailers for other anime) and a homemade brownie cake.

in sif2, i was super lucky with my 10 pulls. i specifically pulled cards of eli, riko, rina, and shiki. i also got a free kotori card from an event. speaking of events, they arent too crazy. just simple grinding and such. all it takes is getting a good score on a song, using up all your skip tickets on that song, use lp candy and then repeat. at least, after ive fufilled the daily goals. i was actually gonna reminice on how i miss sif events with more social elements, but right after i wrote down what i wanted to say there was a score match event! unfortunately, since im one of the 30 people actively playing. ive never gotten a full room. it would just be me and one other person.

and now, what could possibly happen at the very end of the month- easter? i prefer when it happens in april. it gives breathing room between my and like 5 other relatives' birthdays. but this is the time of year where i get lots of hollow chocolate, so all is good. i didnt get anything too crazy, just food and clothes.

and now that winter is officially over, the weather is actually gonna be bearable! i look forward to april and going out more.

april

for april fools this year, i did something i dont normally do.. i dressed up even though i had nowhere to go. before i didnt like dressing up without reason, but after doing it for a bit i actually found it super refreshing. i also started showering first thing in the morning instead of the evening. it gives me the energy i need throughout the day. mentally, ive been doing really well. been getting used to the busy weekdays and all that stuff.

episode 3.5 of monkey wrench released. its an april fools episode, and as a result isnt exactly canon. its about shrike and beebs watching a tape with some guys from amazing digital circus in it. ive never seen tadc, so i have no idea whats going on. i just know people really like the purple rabbit. though it wasnt anything huge, i get excited whenever anything mw related comes out. zeurel could recreate the endless eight and id still watch it.

i beat the delta episode in oras. now im just working to catching all the legendaries i can (aside from the ones you get in the main story, i caught those already). so far i have the lake guardians and the swords of justice (minus keldeo obviously). the legendaries are a lot easier to catch. which makes sense since oras is a lot easier in general. im so used to legends fleeing after the first turn that it surprised me that i could actually catch them first try.

i finished a mad rat dead save i started during a power outage. i got to mimolette before the switch died and then i just forgot to finish it. the thing that held me off was that after that boss, the levels (and final boss) ramp up the difficulty and honestly i wasnt really feeling going through all that. ironically, when i got around to it i beat it all without the time running out. im glad i got that all done, i needed that extra bit of motivation to finish up a madheart fic i wanted to write. ive been trying to learn more into writing fics with more angst elements, and i think doing a blunt interpretation of the game's ending was a good starting point.

i only watched one show this month. that show being pinky and the brain. even though ive shipped brinky for years, only now have i actually watched patb in its entirety (i know, embarassing). but that aside, this show has such a pretty style. the coloring uses a lot of cool colors (since it mostly takes place during night). and there are many shots that i absolutely adore. i actually agree with the popular fan theory that pinky is smarter than he leads on. not only because canon supports it really well, but it would also be hilarious. a sort of "looks can be decieving" situation. of course, no slander to brain. he's incredibly smart himself. it would just be funny if pinky was just a little smarter. smart enough to poke holes in his plans, that is.

i bought and read the first volume of the tokyo mew mew omnibus. which is actually just the first two volumes compiled into one. the themes of environmental preservation fit really well within the story, though i found the pacing a litte too fast. i also started up the anime, and so far my only complaint from the manga has been fixed. it's much slower, and it gives more time for each mew mew to have their moment in the limelight. pudding is my favorite. im watching it subbed because the only dub out there is the 4kids dub, which americanizes and flanderizes everything to hell and back.

ive had some thoughts regarding lost media. whenever i think back on some of my old art and fics (that i deleted in a fit of self conciousness and pure hatred of my own work and skill). i just feel.. ashamed. sure, not all my drawings were perfect. and a lot of my fics were rushed just to fit a once a month upload schedule. but the thing is, they still got likes and kudos. sometimes my fics would get a few comments. but only a handful of my writing was backed up by archival sites. the idea that ive taken some my own work off the web forever because of a quick rush of negative emotions makes me feel ashamed. im actively doing better to preserve my art, and my self esteem has gotten a lot better since then. but i couldnt help but do some self reflection that feels very tmi (my very broad definition of it, at least).

to go onto a topic related to my little rant. in recent times, a looney tunes movie called coyote vs acme has been in a state of "pretty much ready to release, but the creators are too anti-art to actually release it". and it's enraging, to say the least. ive heard about the situation on and off, but i really became fixated on the film and what could have been after watching the video by all things lost on the topic. i think it could have genuinely been a really good film. if we lived in an alternate timeline where this film actually released, you bet i would have dedicated a paragraph to it on a monthly entry. but i guess only time will tell if that would ever happen. i just hope it gets a theatrical release. for now i will obsess over wileroad and draw my little gijinka designs.

to lift up the mood. my third anniversary with candyman, and my first anniversary with dk west is this month! my love for candyman was pretty much immediate after seeing some fanart, while with west it took a bit of time. i always found him attractive, but i had the revelation that i loved him while i was at tim hortons with some friends (out of all the possible places). unfortunately, my busy irl life usually doesnt let me take breaks on weekdays. so while i wasnt able to go out and do something nice on one of the exact anniversary dates, i did get the same order i got on the day i fell for west.. a single double chocolate donut. theyre my favorite.

anyways, thats all for this month. just watchin shows n playing games when i have free time. im hoping to finish up some dormant articles i planned on posting a while back. stay tuned?

may

ah, the month of may. the first day is always the fun one. where everyone posts about nsync. personally, i use may day to celebrate the birthday of a certain orange guitar playing girlie. but that aside, this month was certainly something.

to get the bad stuff out of the way first, my laptop is officially done for. if having a completely fucked battery, randomly notifying me of nonexistent usbs being plugged in, and unresponsive keys at certain intervals wasn't enough.. how about the screen glitching when its adjusted? i knew it was over when i noticed it. ive already wiped it and backed up my art, site assets, and music. until i get a new laptop, ill have to post from my phone. it's not that bad though. just takes a bit longer to do. because of this there won't be any major updates (such as new pages or layout overhauls), save for things i might post here.

i played through needy streamer overload. i first heard about it through feelingmachine's review, and had it on my backlog since. when i saw it on sale on switch i took my chance. it's basically a game where your girlfriend becomes a streamer and you become her manager. you delete mean comments, take her out on dates, and make sure shes all there mentally. it's a fun experience, even if it's a little awkward playing on switch. i should warn, however. this game is incredibly triggering and not for the faint of heart. it has themes of suicide, unhealthy obsessions, drug abuse, and has bright colors/flashing imagery.

i started a new save in star fox 64 3d. funny story, i realized santa wasnt real when i didnt get this game for christmas one year (i was 11.. embarassing). while i did end up getting it the next year, i will never forget my disappointment. anyways, this game is absolutely iconic. to this day i still quote the dialogue.

sif2 went all out for it's final month. free gems, 10 pull tickets, all that good stuff. im very sad it had to end so quickly. as ive said, i loved sif. sure, it's a franchise made solely to market cute idols to nerdy otaku. but the catchy music, fun characters, and simplicity is what sells it for me. i ended up uninstalling a day into the month, because i was at my limit with my battery being constantly drained throughout the day.

and last, im getting into multiversus. i installed day one and i quite like it! im a marvin main, to the surprise of no one. my only complaint so far is that you need to make some kind of warner bros account to play. which is super annoying. there's also a lot of paid content reminiscent of mobile gacha games. but the pvp is pretty fun and im having a good time.

overall, may was kind of a drag. hopefully I get a new laptop soon.

june

happy pride month! to start things off, let me use this monthly entry as a confessional.. i first realized it was possible to be gay from a toy story amv shipping buzz and woody back in 2011. i didnt really know what to think of it at first. before this point, i thought it was straight up impossible for boys to love other boys. i then spent years enduring highs and lows regarding my identity. currently, im a bisexual woman. thanks random prideyear shipper from 13 years ago.

i took a detour from mew mew and watched serial experiments lain. i was initially hesitant to watch it due to one of the guys working on it being a controversial figure, plus the massive resurgence it had (especially in niche internet circles). after finally giving lain a chance, i really wish i watched it earlier. it has a very chilling vibe to it. through lain's perspective everything feels on edge. like things could take a sudden turn at any second. it reminded me a lot of perfect blue, a film that also deals with identity, parasocialism and the internet.

i read through the entire yotsuba manga (at least, as of right now). and i gotta admit, it hit close to home at some parts. not in a way that made me emotional, but in a way that was completely realistic to my experiences when i was growing up. it left me wanting more. another manga i read was go for it nakamura. it's a bl manga that was a popular redraw meme a while back. it's cute! the art style has a very 80's look. and it's super sweet watching nakamura and hirose's friendship grow, even if they arent together..yet.

i rewatched the first two angry birds movies. i was obsessed with the first film back when it was new, but when i saw the sequel i was disappointed and my interest fell off. anyway, the first film is good. a simple plot executed well with lovable characters. though it seems like the filmmakers were really trying to push the limits with what they could get away with in terms of humor. the second film is kind of unnecessary. personally i didn't find it all that entertaining. as a result, im a little doubtful about the upcoming third film.. but who knows! maybe it's good.

after that, i watched the first gremlins movie. i had a few technical difficulties, but that aside i loved it. the puppetry is really good, and the mogwai/gremlins are so expressive!! i was surprised by how violent it was, showing the gremlins dying in gruesome ways. though to be fair, this is one of the movies that played a role in establishing the pg-13 rating. anyways, i want my own pet mogwai. im also gonna buy stripe in multiversus once i get the fighter currency for him. he can be my secondary.

i went to see inside out 2. i liked the worldbuilding of the first film, so i was looking forward to the sequel. especially since i think inside out has the most potential for one. and thankfully, it lived up to that potential! it does a great job portraying anxiety and how that can impact one's life if it takes absolute control. i also like how riley had a crush on a video game character that's alarmingly similar to cloud strife. good taste. but yeah, pixar can still make good films!

there was a nintendo direct this month, as expected since june is the month where big game reveals happen. the biggest highlight for me was the new mario & luigi game. a part of me desperately hopes at least one beanish will make an appearance. even if it's just a common npc. there was also a looney tunes sports game. marvin isn't playable but i might get it anyway if it's good. that stuff aside, i say it was a good direct. lots of big reveals.

from now on, im gonna be a lot busier than i already am. it will only be for july and august. so if my future entries are barren, thats why. im still waiting on getting the money for my new laptop.

july

july was... it was a month. the weather was unbearably hot. i had to have three fans running in my room. i went out with friends a lot and tried whiskey (its disgusting). and i've kinda just felt a little disconnected from the world.

i found a shiny shinx in platinum, while i was trying to look for the legendary birds (i have all of them except articuno). for some reason i keep encountering shinies when im not even looking for them. i finished catching all the pokemon in the trophy garden, and now i'm working on the swarms. its a lot harder since you can't just soft reset until you get the ones you want each day. i just have to deal with 3 days straight of the same thing.

it was recently announced that shrek 5 will be actually coming out. honestly... why? the original films (minus the third of course) are already perfect on their own, and forever after was a proper conclusion. don't get me wrong, i loved the spinoffs with puss in boots (watch the last wish if you havent yet). and the holiday specials are fine. but really, i think shrek doesn't need any sort of continuation. it doesn't help that the current teaser feels like it's pandering to nostalgia. i really hope it doesn't end up being like that when it actually comes out.

there's a makeship campaign of reruns for past plushies, and i ended up ordering one of shrike from monkey wrench. i never even knew the series existed when the original run happened, and i didn't wanna miss my chance this time. due to differences in currency, he was a bit expensive. but it will be worth it once he arrives. i'll finally get to smooch him and make him kandi! i promise to take pictures once he arrives.

me and my sister rewatched the sam raimi spiderman trilogy. im proud to admit they're the only marvel movies ive seen in their entirety. as a kid, they were cool superhero films. but as an adult theyre a comedy. i genuinely laughed the hardest i ever have in a long time watching them. the first one is the best, the second is the most iconic, and the third is.. not too good. it was clearly rushed. if you love tacky 2000s films like i do, definitely give them a watch. even if you don't know squat about marvel.

so overall, this month went by pretty quick. and nothing insanely notable happened. aside from like.. some stuff involving politicians and the start of the summer olympics, i don't watch them but i like seeing how canada is doing. peace out!

august

one year ago, i had the idea to write my thoughts and things i did in monthly journal entries. it took a lot of courage. but after setting strict limits and getting rid of the audience in my head, i started documenting the things ive been doing for over a year now.

i admit it was a bit hard to open up. i worry that i repeat myself a lot. that i reuse the same openers for paragraphs, that my descriptions are too simple, that i talk too much about relationships in shows.. but honestly, who cares? it's my site, it's my diary, and it's my bullshit. anyone that might read this is reading to see me, not some professional journalist. this whole site is a look into my soul and that includes this section.

but sentimental stuff out of the way, i started up a save file in dragon quest iv, specifically the ds version. im not too savvy on the dragon quest series (i do have xi but i didnt get far in it), but im obsessed with the character designs. especially in the earlier installments. i also want like a billion slime plushies. anyways, i've cleared chapter 1 and i've done a bit of progress on chapter 2. alena is my favorite and if anything happens to her i will hurt someone.

i binge watched all the di gi charat specials. im surprised i only got to them now, as i love going back and rewatching the original 16 episode anime every few months or so. i really like how it utilizes details, simplicity, and even live action for comedic effect. the ohanami special is my favorite out of all of them.

this isnt exactly news worthy, but while i was out shopping i bought a plush of bunnie from animal crossing. this wouldnt be too notable if it werent for why i did it. ysee, the gaming section of my local walmart has little boxes of plushies. usually just nintendo stuff. one of the boxes was just full of bunnies. and it seemed like nobody was buying any. after one too many sad gazes upon it, i finally caved and bought one of them. i try to be careful with purchasing plushies, as they tend to be insanely expensive for some reason. but i just couldn't resist. i just felt bad, yknow?

and finally, go for it nakamura is getting an anime soon. i am so excited. im curious to see how the style will translate into animation. will it try to replicate the manga best to its ability or will it go for a faux retro style? complete with cel animation and compression? either way, i look forward to it!

this month is the last full month of being busy with family stuff. hopefully september will be a lot of fun, since i'll have more time to myself.

september

september was a pretty alright month. it's nice to have more time to myself, though it can feel really lonely. but outside that, i also hung out with my irl friends a lot. we ate a lot of delicious food together. that's one of the best parts of friendship.

i started a brand new island in acnl. i've been pretty focused on just making bells to pay loans and buy cute clothes. and with filling the museum with every new creature i catch. i try to remind myself that it's okay to not play every day, and it makes things a lot easier. i got a lot of really colorful villagers. most notably, chadder. he's one of my favorites, and was in my old island from middle school. he's my top priority alongside kody and static.

i finished tokyo mew mew. it took a while, mainly due to a lack of motivation and my busy life. but im glad i finally did. its a must-watch when it comes to 2000s magical girl shows. i probably won't watch the reboot, but im sure it's good. that being said, i do recommend this show. it's silly and cute.

funny enough, a local store was selling some secondhand manga. including tokyo mew mew a la mode! i had to pick it up to see if it was as bad as people said it was (both volumes, plus some stickers and a pita ten fanbook were 5 dollars in total). ill read it when i remember to..

speaking of pita ten, ive been watching both that and loonatics unleashed. a weird combination of shows, but they're both the exact same length. i watch 5 episodes at a time of each show so i dont accidentally forget to continue one of them and end up in limbo.

to start with the silly angel show, it's a series that just been collecting dust on my watchlist that i only recently got to. i like the contrast between misha (the annoying angel) and shia (the kindhearted devil), and how neither are ever played out to be unlikeable or worse than the other. the anime is padded out with episodic antics between some occasional lore, but i didnt mind. ill have to see if i can get my hands on the actual manga. it's apparently a lot sadder.

and now we talk about edgy looney tunes. despite its drastically different aesthetic and style, i loved it. the edgy futurism was absolute eyecandy to look at, and even if it's not on-point i found the characters do a good job at filling in for the ancestors. tech and rev are my favorites and i want them to kiss (despite what the latter said that one time). i wish we got to see the loonatics in their civilian forms more often. what if they had magical girl transformations whenever there's an emergency? hire me, warner bros!

while doing research on a certain incident on youtube, i discovered one of the cutest and saddest movies ever- arashi no yoru ni (one stormy night in english). it's about the forbidden bond between a wolf and a goat. the wolf, gabu, has an internal conflict with his natural instincts. but mei, the goat, seems to be aware of this and is willing to do anything for at least one of them to life a peaceful life without prejudice. it's a beautiful film. especially if you love cute animals and 2d animation combined with 3d. it's also probably the only anime with an official fandub.

and.. that's it i guess!

october

happy halloween! im reusing my reisen cosplay for this year.. don't feel like making anything. i do wanna get more into cosplay but im saving for more important things.

ive been pretty obsessed with 90s platformers lately. specifically ones that tried to be cool and edgy, like gex and bubsy. ive also rekindled my interest in earthworm jim in the last few months. ive been a fan for years, it's just that there was a point where i thought i couldn't enjoy it anymore due to.. reasons. but that's not relevant right now. i personally prefer the cartoon over the games, it gives the characters a lot more personality. ill have to do a rewatch..

the moment ive been waiting for finally happened.. my shrike plushie from makeship arrived!!!! he's so cute!!!! i was so anxious waiting for him when i got notified he was being shipped. thankfully, his journey from the manufacturer to home was a safe and quick one.

and now we end things off on a food review. wendys did a spongebob collab and i tried their krabby patty. i'm sort of mixed on wendys, their food usually makes me feel miserable after eating it. but this time, that didnt happen. this is probably my favorite wendys meal. shame it won't be around for long. i didnt try the pineapple frosty because those absolutely obliterate my bowels. but yeah, i loved it!

uhhh.. yeah that's pretty much it. i genuinely forgot to do any notable updates to the site this month aside from my monthly entry.

november

i really don't want to delve into political topics right now, because that's not what i intend on talking about on my site. but i want to take a moment to give my heart out to all the americans right now. though things turned out for the worst in the election, you can't give up now. whatever the orange has in store, you are able to live through it.

okay.. serious talk done, lets talk about whats been going on this month.

ive been reading more of my manga collection. I recently got the first two volumes of bocchi the rock, and i also read the first two volumes of himouto umaru-chan. I don't remember exactly why I got it (it was years ago), but it was probably because I liked the items based on umaru on gaia online. both are good.

I returned to my pokemon white 2 file from a year ago to do the post-game. but i found I wasnt satisfied with my team.. so I started a new file. right now I have a serperior named jade, a azumarill named kinder, an arcanine named aries, and n's zoroark.

and last, I went to see moana 2. the first film is great, but i was a little worried going in to the sequel. i ended up liking it. even though it had a "direct to dvd" kind of feel, if that makes sense. seeing as how it was meant to be a show, I went in with low expectations. my overall opinion is that it's nowhere near as good as the first film.

anyways, that's all for november. sorry it's a little late, i caught a nasty stomach bug right on the last day of the month.

2024 was certainly a year. it reminded me of the passage of time, and how old im getting. ive been just mellowing out and letting go of the uptightness and moral ocd of my teenhood. after all, i just got into my 20s. oh, and my laptop of almost 10 years broke. with the current bs microsoft pulls im not really looking forward to getting a new one.

ive been going to more craft shows and even local cons when they happen. it's super fun to just look around and see what people are making and selling. it's even better talking to the artists and learning how they make their art.

my favorite vendors at craft shows are the ones that sell cutesy merch. even though they sell obvious bootlegs sometimes, their prices are always better than the ones you would find normally. i got a cinnamoroll plush for 20 bucks ffs! i would have paid double if i got him at like the mall.

i randomly decided to watch the thief and the cobbler. it's an animated film thats notorious for being in development hell for roughly 30 years. it's a really pretty and almost psychedelic film with extremely well done character design. the title characters are especially cute.. for some reason i really want to cuddle tack... but anyways, if you really love hand drawn animation with a hefty amount of patterns, or if you like historical animation, i highly recommend you watch it! just be careful, as there are some visuals that can be hard on the eyes.

the fourth episode of monkey wrench came out. and of course, i watched it while cuddled with my little shrikey. the episode details shrike and beebs going to a casino. shrike's impulse control becomes a major element of the episode after he gambles everything away. and beebs has an encounter with someone of his own species that views him as inferior. also.. jaw bone!! he's hilarious and awesome. he's even voiced by vinesauce joel! great episode as always.

at the recommendation of a friend, i started watching girls last tour. i really love tsukumizu's art, so ill have to check out their other work. but i started first with the one that has an anime. it's very melancholic, and yet despite that theres an aura of hope.

ive been playing a sega genesis collection on the ps4 (preferably after taking a "gummy"). it takes me back to when i used to play it on the psp when i was little.. my only issue with it is that it doesn't have my favorite, ecco the dolphin (and its sequel).. but ill live. i like playing toejam and earl, columns, and sonic (preferably 2, spinball or mean bean machine).

speaking of sonic, i saw the third sonic movie! it's genuinely so good i can't put it into words. it handles mature themes like grief, revenge, and self control incredibly well. and no, nobody in the theater cheered when maria died. the theater was packed with babbling kids that kicked my seat every few minutes.

for christmas this year, i got the azumanga daioh omnibus. i also got sonic 1 and 2 on blu-ray (in case my dvd of the first one explodes ig). and a little zodiac booklet. its filled with advice for aries going into 2025.

while this site has undergone a lot of changes this year, i wish i could do more. i don't have huge plans, per say. just adjustments to make pages more interesting (well, my idea of it at least). but im really proud of my progress this year. i like the way everything looks and functions.

it's weird to think we're almost halfway through the 2020's. but at the same time, 2020 feels like an hundred years ago. there's been ups and downs, highs and lows and many nuances. i dont have any predictions for the other half of the decade, but hopefully the dystopian future we assumed would happen will become obsolete.
